Everything you need to know about SwayGifts

SwayGifts is a digital gifting platform that helps people celebrate life moments by sharing personalised celebration messages. Senders may optionally include a gift amount with a message, but messages are always the core of the experience.
No. You can send and receive celebration messages without including any gift amount. Messages are always delivered in full, whether or not money is included.
The gift is the celebration message itself. Including a gift amount is optional and secondary to the message.

A Celebration Page is a personal page created to celebrate a person or a life event.

It is a place where:

  • people can read and share celebration messages,
  • messages are displayed over time,
  • celebration stays personal and meaningful.

A Celebration Page:

  • is not a financial account,
  • does not show balances or totals,
  • does not have goals or targets,
  • does not collect or hold money.

Think of it as a digital space to celebrate moments, not a place to manage money.

When a gift amount is included:

  • payment is handled securely by our trusted payment partner,
  • the gift amount is processed by the payment partner and settled directly into the recipient's account with them,
  • SwayGifts does not hold or store your funds at any point,
  • any service fee is clearly shown before checkout.

SwayGifts does not provide wallets, balances, or stored-value accounts.

When someone sends you a gift with a monetary amount, the funds are settled into your own account with our payment partner.

From there, you can transfer your gifts to your personal bank account or card at any time. SwayGifts provides the interface to make this easy, but the transfer itself is between you and the payment partner.

SwayGifts never holds your money. Your funds sit in your own account, and you decide when and where to transfer them.

You can still send the celebration message right away.

If the recipient has not joined SwayGifts:

  • the message is delivered immediately,
  • no payment happens at that time.

If the recipient later joins and completes setup, you'll be notified and can choose to complete the gift then.

If they don't join within 30 days, the gift intent expires and no payment is taken. You'll be notified and can always resend if you'd like.

Group gifting on SwayGifts means that multiple people can celebrate the same moment, each in their own way.

Here's how it works:

  • each person sends their own message,
  • each person decides whether to include a gift amount,
  • each gift is handled independently,
  • payments are completed separately, one at a time.

There are:

  • no pooled funds,
  • no shared totals,
  • no fundraising goals,
  • no visibility into what others have given.

Group gifting is about shared celebration, not collective payment.

Yes. Each person sends their own message and optional gift independently. No one can see how much others have given, and there are no public totals or targets.

Yes. SwayGifts applies clear limits to gift amounts and frequency to keep gifting safe and comfortable.

These limits help:

  • prevent large or unexpected transfers,
  • reduce misuse and fraud,
  • keep the experience focused on celebration.

Limits apply to everyone.

Yes. Parents and guardians can create Celebration Pages for children or dependents.

In these cases:

  • the page is owned and managed by the verified adult,
  • any gift amount included is received by the parent or guardian, not the child,
  • no money is saved, locked, or set aside for the child,
  • children do not receive funds and do not manage gifts,
  • children may be allowed to view messages if the parent chooses.

SwayGifts does not offer financial accounts, savings features, or custodial funds for children.

No. SwayGifts does not hold, store, or control user funds at any time. Payments, when included, are processed and settled by our payment partner. Recipients access their funds through their own account with the payment partner.
No. SwayGifts does not provide wallets, balances, or stored-value features. Each gift is a one-time payment processed by the payment partner and settled into the recipient's account.

If a payment fails:

  • the gift is not completed,
  • no funds move,
  • the celebration message remains visible.

You may choose to retry the payment.

Refunds are limited and depend on the circumstances. Because messages are delivered immediately, gifts are generally considered complete once payment succeeds. Refund eligibility and dispute handling are explained in our Refund and Dispute Policy. Refunds, when approved, are processed through the payment partner.
No. SwayGifts does not support fundraising, pooled contributions, or campaigns. It is designed for personal gifting and celebration, not collective fundraising.
SwayGifts earns a small service fee when a gift amount is included. There is no fee for message-only gifts. The service fee is included in the total shown at checkout, so you always know exactly what you're paying before you confirm. The fee is deducted automatically by the payment partner — SwayGifts never handles the money separately.
Yes. Payments are handled by established payment service providers, and SwayGifts follows standard security and privacy practices. For details on how your data is handled, please see our Privacy Policy.
